How to book
Message @888rentals on Instagram
In your message include:
- Which outfit you would like to hire
- What date your event is
- Whether you would like to pick up from Mount Albert, Auckland or require postage
Once everything is agreed upon, a valid form of ID must be sent for security.
Payment will be taken after this.
Deposits
If you would like to secure an outfit for your event that is far in advance, we accept deposits of 50% to ensure its availability for your required date.
Your hire is NOT confirmed until payment has been made and screenshot has been sent.
Try-Ons
Try-ons are available in Mount Albert, Auckland.
- Cost: $10 (This will be deducted from your rental fee if you choose to hire a garment. Non-refundable otherwise.)
- Duration: 30 minutes
- You may try on up to 5 garments- these must be pre-selected and sent to us before your appointment.
Please note:
- No bags are allowed in the try-on room.
- Only the garments you selected may be tried on- others on the rack are off-limits.
- Only the person renting may attend the try-on, unless a parent is required.
Postals
Pricing:
- Local pick up (Mount Albert): FREE
- Local Pick up and Return postage: $8.50
- Return postage (Includes return label): $17.00
- Rural return postage (Includes return label): $24.00
Notes:
- Weekend postal orders must be placed before Wednesday 3pm
- Weekday postal orders must be placed minimum 2 working days before event
Returns
Local Drop-Off Returns
- Weekday Hire (Monday- Thursday): Return by 11:59 PM the next day
- Weekend Hire (Friday–Sunday): Return by Monday 11:59 PM
Postal Returns
- Return garments via NZ Post only — do not use drop boxes
- Weekday Hire (Monday–Thursday): Post by 3:00 PM the next day
- Weekend Hire (Friday–Sunday): Post by Monday 3:00 PM
Late Fees
- A $15 late fee applies for each day past the return deadline.
- If the item goes missing, we’ll lodge a complaint. If it’s not recovered, you’ll be responsible for paying the full retail price.
Refunds and Exchanges
- Damage Refunds: Refunds are only offered for garments that arrive with irreparable damage or major stains, and must be reported within 24 hours of receiving the item.
- Postal Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by NZ Post. We ship with a 3-day buffer, but delays can still happen. Please follow up directly with NZ Post.
- Sizing Issues: We do not offer refunds or store credits for sizing problems. Please ask for sizing help or book a try-on beforehand.
- Cancellations: If you cancel at least 14 days before dispatch, you’ll receive store credit (including any postage paid).
- Exchanges: Must be requested at least 14 days before your event. Price differences will be adjusted.
Note: All payments and deposits are
non-refundable but can be issued as store credit, valid for 12
months.
Dry Cleaning
Please do not wash or dry clean the garment
yourself. We take care of all cleaning after return.
Damage Policy
- If the item is returned with noticeable wear or minor damage (e.g. heavy stains, pilling, loose threads), you’ll be charged 25% of the retail price (RRP) in addition to your rental fee.
- If the garment is damaged beyond repair, you’ll be charged 100% of the RRP, on top of the rental fee.
Please treat all garments with care as if they were your own to avoid extra fees.
